Food Donation

Project

Aiyamiddun’s main focus is to address the urgent nutritional needs of middle and high school students. The primary goal is to reduce hunger and improve the overall nutrition of underprivileged students, ensuring that they receive the essential nourishment needed for academic success and extracurricular achievements. This program aims to consistently provide balanced and wholesome meals for students, promoting not only physical well-being but also improved focus and concentration to enhance academic performance.

The initiative actively engages with parents and school communities to raise awareness about the critical importance of nutrition. It involves establishing vegetable gardens in schools and homes, reinforcing healthy eating habits, and encouraging sustainable food sources. Aiyamiddun is committed to impacting the nutritional well-being of students through active community involvement and a multi-faceted approach.

Our program aims to provide nutritious meals to over 18000 students every two weeks in the underserved regions of northern, eastern, and central Sri Lanka. Currently, these meals cost less than 10 rupees per student, a significant reduction from the initial cost of 75 rupees per student. This reduction has been made possible through generous contributions and support from school communities and well-wishers. Importantly, some schools are now able to sustain this program entirely through local support, demonstrating unity and compassion within their village.
